CURATION / VIDEO EDITING
f.stop photo fair is a collaborative event by Auckland zinefest & colectivo narval to bring forth a world-wide photo exhibition with the theme of long distance.
This was a one-day event with a market, exhibition, workshops and talks bringing together indie photographers to share their love for photography.
An open call-out was organised in English and Spanish, welcoming entries from photographers of all formats and skill levels. The only criteria was that it should relate to the theme ‘Long Distance’ defined as the following:
Long Distance can be interpreted to describe the space between two points and the feeling of being far – such as international phone calls before the digital age and relationships separated by geography.
For the exhibition side of the event, I was responsible for creating the video displaying the final curation of photos. Two videos were displayed via projectors and mapped out onto the walls to converge at a corner. Alongside the video project, Fernanda from Colectivo Narval and I created an installation to play with the idea of ‘long distance’ through technology and video cameras.
